Part Eight ( La Paz to Isla San Francisco)

We stayed in Raza Inlet for as long as we could, however our food got pretty low and if we wanted to refrain from eating crackers and cat kibbles, we’d have to head to La Paz. La Paz is considered the metropolis of Baha Mexico, with grocery stores that have two floors, movie theaters and car rentals. We were – naturally – very excited to finally reach it. And only after two weeks!

After showering for a very long time, we ate out and explored the town. Whilst we were in La Paz, I became close friends with two girls called Michelle and Autumn who were also sailing with their parents on the boat Xpression. We all hung out and zoomed on bikes around the malecón for many a day. Friends and sunshine, two things humanity needs. We had so much fun together, so we became buddy boats!

Buddy boating is when two or more boats stick together and go to the same places around the same times, so they can catch up and have fun. La Paz was incredibly hard to leave, broken boat bits, missing parts, special dates, I got food poisoning, cat paperwork…. The list goes on. Eventually we did manage to leave, and we went with Xpression to Partida Bay, where we played board games and explored the shore, looking at whales bones and plants. Then of course dad got the sickness I got, and the girls on Xpression got it too. Not fun.

We left after three days and two nights, and started towards Isla San Francisco. No not that one, a different, slightly prettier one. Isla San Francisco was increíble.

Side note: that day we lost a bolt. It just plunked down on deck after a hard day of bashing. Remember this little sucker of a bolt.

The water was a bright, bright turquoise, crystal clear and swarming with fishies. The landscape around it was a towering desert, a high mountain you can hike – we did – and explore around. I collected many adorable shells which I made jewelry out of later on. We left after about four days, Xpression heading back to La Paz, us heading north to our next little anchorage.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a superb job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Internet explorer. Superb Blog!
